Education and Networking

NABC Convention

The annual NABC Convention, held in conjunction with the NCAA Men's Final Four, is the top professional development event in the men's basketball coaching industry. Most NABC members also have the opportunity to purchase Final Four tickets. In addition, members registered for the Convention will have access to accommodations in the official NABC hotel properties.

Professional Development Series (PDS) Certification

PDS clinics are held throughout the NABC Convention and cover topics concerning various aspects of our profession, including coaching development, ethics and personal development. Member coaches can receive official PDS certification and the opportunity to earn continuing education college credit during the NABC Convention.

NABC MARKETPLACE

The NABC MARKETPLACE is a three-day (Thursday-Saturday) business and networking event for all members at the NABC Convention. Connect with the exhibitors that have the products and services your program needs. 

NABC CHAMPIONSHIP BASKETBALL CLINICS

NABC Championship Basketball Clinics are a joint initiative between the NABC and Championship Productions that provide coaches at every level of the sport with year-round professional development opportunities. NABC Championship Basketball Clinics are held at various locations across the country in the spring and fall, and feature programming with many of the game's most decorated coaches. NABC members receive discounted registration to the clinics.

 

Awards and Recognition

The NABC offers numerous awards for its members.  Only NABC members are eligible to nominate, vote and receive these awards.

Guardians of the Game Pillar Awards are the most prestigious awards presented by the NABC. Member coaches are eligible to receive these Guardians awards in the categories of education, leadership, service and advocacy.

NABC Honor Awards are presented to member coaches at significant career milestones, beginning at 300 wins and at each 100 level beyond that.

NABC Coach of the Year Awards are presented on a national basis for junior colleges, NAIA Divisions I and II, and NCAA Divisions I, II and III. In addition, member coaches in the NCAA Divisions are eligible for coach of the year awards in each of their NABC Districts.

Champion Awards are presented to coaches annually for their outstanding contributions to Coaches vs. Cancer.
 
NABC 30 Under 30 recognition is presented to the game's top coaches under 30 years of age. 
 
NABC Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes teams which have a combined 3.0 grade-point or better average for all active members of the roster. 
 
Champions Luncheon honors NABC member coaches who have led their collegiate teams to regular season conference championships. Each championship coach is recognized individually at the Champions Luncheon at the NABC Convention.
 
NABC Team of the Week Awards are announced weekly during the season to recognize standout teams in the NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA.
 
NABC Merit Awards are presented to coaches who have 15 years of NABC membership.
 
NABC Guardians of the Game Awards Show, held on Sunday of NABC Convention week, is the main event for the top coaching and player awards across college basketball. In addition to coach and player of the year awards in each division, honors such as the Pete Newell Big Man, Defensive Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year awards are presented, along with the prestigious NABC Guardians of the Game Pillar Awards.
 
NABC College All-Star Games, played on Friday following practices by the Final Four on the Final Four floor, features 20 of the top senior collegiate players in the nation. The teams are coached by some of the nation’s most outstanding college coaches, past and present. In addition, the NABC also hold senior all-star games at the NCAA Division II Elite Eight and the NCAA Division III championship. Admission to the games is free for NABC members. 
 

Advocacy

NABC committees work to advocate for and advance coaches' interests relative to college basketball legislation and policies. NABC members have the opportunity to serve on various committees, including the NABC Board of Directors; NABC Congress; NABC Ad Hoc Committee on Men's College Basketball; NABC Ad Hoc Committee on NCAA Tournaments Selections, Seeding and Bracketing; NABC Ad Hoc Committee on the NBA, and the NCAA Men's Basketball Regional Advisory Committee.

Relation Insurance Service (Camp/Clinic Insurance): Relation Insurance Services tailors its programs to address the needs of amateur and youth sports associations, intercollegiate, and interscholastic organizations. Coverage provided under this program includes important liability protection for the camp or clinic operator, including employees and volunteers, for liability claims arising out of its operations.
