COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Bob Burkholder, a former Ohio State basketball player and assistant coach, died at 75.

He died Monday, Dec. 10 at Crown Pointe Nursing Home.

Burkholder was in charge of scouting and recruiting under coach Fred Taylor from 1965 to 1976. During that time, the Buckeyes won or shared two Big Ten titles and twice finished second in the conference.

He won three letters at Ohio State from 1948-50. He coached in high school before coaching basketball and baseball at Muskingum College from 1955-65.

Burkholder worked in real estate in Columbus after leaving coaching.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Anne, and sons Jeff and Scott.

A memorial service will be held Thursday.
