NABC Announces Division I All-District Coaches
March 11, 2008 Kansas City, Mo. - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced today the NABC Division I All-District coaches, selected by their peers.
2008 NABC DIVISION I ALL-DISTRICT COACHES District 1: Jim Calhoun, University of Connecticut District 2: Steve Donahue, Cornell University District 3: Mike Rice, Robert Morris University District 4: John Thompson III, Georgetown University District 5: Bob McKillop, Davidson College District 6: Ronnie Arrow, University of South Alabama District 7: Kevin Stallings, Vanderbilt University and Bruce Pearl, University of Tennessee District 8: Dave Dickerson, Tulane University District 9: Rick Barnes, University of Texas District 10: Sean Miller, Xavier University District 11: Bo Ryan, University of Wisconsin District 12: Keno Davis, Drake University District 13: Greg Graham, Boise State University District 14: Trent Johnson, Stanford University District 15: Bob Burton, Cal State Fullerton About the National Association of Basketball Coaches Located in Kansas City, MO, the NABC was founded in 1927 by Phog Allen, the legendary basketball coach at the University of Kansas. Allen, a student of James Naismith, the inventor of basketball, organized coaches into this collective group to serve as Guardians of the Game. The NABC currently claims nearly 5,000 members consisting primarily of university and college men's basketball coaches. All members of the NABC are expected to uphold the core values of being a Guardian of the Game by bringing attention to the positive aspects of the sport of basketball and the role coaches play in the academic and athletic lives of today's student-athletes. The four core values of being a Guardian of the Game are advocacy, leadership, service and education.
