Launch Low 1-4 Offense

I. Priorities in building an effective offense
       A. Recognize player strengths.
       B. Fit offense to players--not players to offense.
II. Personnel
       A. Emphasis on low post game.
           1. High percentage shot.
           2. Three-point play.
       B. Must have or must develop post players.
       C. We teach our post players the following:
           1. Power move or drop step.
           2. Inside pivot or Sikma move.
           3. Jump hook.
           4. Triple threat position-high post.
III. Advantages
       A. Flexibility.
           1. Good floor spacing-eliminates helpside and rotation defenses.
           2. Effective offensive rebounding position.
           3. Defensive balance-quick transition offense to defense.
           4. Successful execution vs. either type of defense (man-zone).
           5. Allows for creativity.
IV. Simplicity
       A. Options are designed around player strengths.
       B. Players have specific roles in the offense--unlike continuity offenses where players must learn all positions and
movements--results in better execution of the offense.
V. Fundamentals
       A. Must be well versed in the basics--fundamentals.
       B. We teach the following DAILY.
           1. Passing.
           2. Receiving--triple threat position.
           3. Ball-handling--GOPHER 16.
           4. Movement without the ball.
           5. Screening.
           6. Pivoting.
